We had the 4 course meal and it was delicious. The service and ambience were spot on as well. Well worth the visit.

Best restaurant in Whistler. I dream and rave about it all year long while at home and can’t wait for trips to Whistler just to eat here. After our last dinner, we did the 3 and 4 course (and damn it I should have done the 4 cause that second ... one was so good sharing it was brutal) I told my 17 year old he needed to drive up for a day date with his girlfriend just to have dinner. Yes 8-9 hr round trip of driving just for dinner. Every flavor/texture was fun and balanced and unique and amazing. Never would have ordered carrots, yes carrots for an appetizer. But server said it was good. 🤯I would say push yourself and try whatever they recommend. The pork belly and the bison mains were stunning. Not only visually but in my mouth. I think we both basically scraped the sauce etc from every plate from every course. We went to another fancy place starting with an A in whistler and yes their set menu price was the same amount and yes it was good but not even close to the level of awesome as Alta. I will trade super fancy atmosphere for astonishing food (I love the more laid back intimate feel of Alta) any day. My only disappointment was I didn’t check the stupid open days 🤦‍♀️ for Alta and we couldn’t go twice. We almost stayed another night just so we could go back and try the other items on the set menu. I came to try out the Pan Seared Haida Gwaii Sablefish. It is delicious. The sablefish is slightly flaky, fatty, and melts in your mouth. The accompaniments are beautifully thought out. The fried kelp adds a hint of char to the fish, the radish introduces sweetness to balance the ... fattiness, and the trout roe elevates the dish with pop-in-your mouth texture. What I find disappointing is the price and portion size. It's simply too small for it to receive 5 stars from me. I already had food prior, and for a main dish it was still not sufficient to fill me. By far the best restaurant in Whistler. Alta Bistros constantly changing menu consistently delivers a unique experience at every visit. This is the only high end restaurant in Whistler I know i can rely on for flawless dining. Update: I go to Alta Bistro once every other month maybe, but i’d ... go every week if i could afford too. Every time is memorable but after my last visit i feel the need to update my review. Usually i sit at a table, but this past visit we sat at the bar. Bar seating is always make or break by the bartender, and i have to hand it to Alta Bistros bar tender Tommy for making it great. He clearly knows a lot about liquor with out being pretentious about it. He was very charismatic without any fake enthusiasm. I was also surprised that he was serving a full bar, making drinks for the whole restaurant and still helping servers run food without seeming even a little bit stressed. I wish that i was in the mood to drink more so i could try more of his creations and suggestions. Next time i’ll be requesting a seat at the bar. Read more

This spot right in the village was a great place to celebrate my partners birthday. The staff were fantastic. Each member involved in our meal aided in the presentation and experience of eating there. We opted for the five course meal. We also had a wine pairing for each meal. ... The portions and flavours were perfect. Each course was unique and paired with the perfect wine. See photos below for all five courses. I would recommend this place for any occasion.
