La Bocca - Whistler, British Columbia

Went here for dinner for the 2 pizza/pasta + wine combo. The lamb ragout and funghi pizza were great, but the serving size of the $12 minestrone was laughable. Basically one ladle full, with a grand total off 5 tortellini (see picture, with loonie for scale)

The service is extremely poor. I was ready to place our order, but the waitress basically pretended she didn’t see us and made us wait for 10 minutes. I asked for medium rare, but it came out well done. The orders came out super slow, and the shortage of waitresses ... made the service extremely slow.😅It was an awful experience and I’m definitely not gonna visit this restaurant anymore. Read more

La Bocca saved Christmas Eve... dinner! They where able to fit our part of 7, 5 adults 2 kids, in on Christmas eve just hours before dinner. Our normal place lost our reservation and we where frantically looking for a new place for Christmas eve dinner and La Bocca saved ... the day. We had a wonderful time! The staff was fantastic! The food and drinks are top notch! We also asked for some substitutions and they where very accommodating. All of us said that we'd love to go back again! My wife and I went there around 4pm, I guess it was down time. People had their lunch already and dinner people had not shown up yet. The girl who served us was extremely nice and attentive. We asked for margaritas pizza, calamari and Minestrone, but since it had a ... bit of bacon which my wife doesn't like its taste, she changed it to Poached pear salad. The salad happened to be my wife's favorite, I loved the pizza. The only downer was calamari which was very oily. We both love calamari and usually is one of the item we order, don't remember have had anywhere before like that. We actually didn't feel great about half an hour after we left (we stopped at a store to get sparkling water, that helped). All said, don't feel is fair to give less than 4 star just because of one item, things happen and it might've been our luck on that. It has a funky colors and looks clean.
