My-Thai Restaurant - Waterloo, Ontario

I had my first experience with Thai food here and it was great, everything was perfectly served and tasted amazing. The staff were friendly and helpful.

Father’s Day June 16, 2019 2:30pm; our first time visiting; though we’d try something new. Decor is definitely lacking. There are paintings on dull gray coloured walls. The dying plant next to the waterfall at the front entrance needs to be replaced. Restaurant can seat about 23 people. No ... wifi, which is fine by me. Music is not authentic to the restaurant. Interior is generally clean but the walls need to be cleaned as well. Rattan chairs with wooded tables and great quality napkins. Calamari is with crispy noodles and pickled veggies. Calamari is tender and is accompanied with a sauce that has a lingering heat; great appetizer. Pad Thai has ok flavour but could use more seasoning. Shrimp is cooked perfectly not rubbery at all! House chicken noodle soup has excellent flavour that come in a very small bowl. Our young and new server got it mixed up as it was supposed to be the large meal portion; no worries she’s still learning. Green curry with veggies and beef; I asked to be made more spicy and I was pleasantly surprised. If you like spicy just ask! This dish was seasoned well. Takeout containers (styrofoam) are not environmentally conscious. So the big question at the end of any visit is, would we return, sadly no. Overall the food speaks for itself. I highly recommend the sticky rice with some kind of curry! Our hostess seemed a bit confused and took our menus away before we ordered, but our waitress corrected that and provided some very good suggestions on what to order. Will definitely be back ... for the sticky rice and lime leaf curry! Read more

The atmosphere is great. The service was also ok. We ordered padthai and curry. It tasted great. They also gave us one spring roll for each person. The server noticed that my one of us is vegetarian and gave us the vegie spring roll, which was super sweet. Been to other Thai places and have to say that this would be in the middle. For the prices, the portion is a bit smaller than others, some food were flavorful like mango salad and pad thai but still not the best we've tasted. Disappointed with their spring rolls both ... fresh and fried and woth the chicken fried rice. Chicken tasted stale and rice was more wet than dry. The decor was good. It was an okay restaurant but not something we will frequent. Read more
