Granny Bonn’s Fish & Chips - Waterloo, Ontario

I've driven by this place daily on my way to and from work for years. Finally decided to give it a try. Service was quick and friendly, ordered the one piece halibut and chips, really good fish and chips. I'll be back.

Small portions reflect, lower price. Fish had a burnt old oil taste. Fries are thinner, ok. No condiments provided. Need to negotiate to get three ketchup packages and a malt vinegar, not enough tarter for one piece of fish.

Went to order 1 piece of fish to which would have been 16 dollars but a 2 piece meal would be 16 with tax. What a disappointment I used to eat there all the time at would get 2 good sizes of fish. Granny Bonn's makes great fish and chips. Period. You certainly won't be overwhelmed by the surroundings, but you'll be concentrating on your meal anyway. Most folks, and there was a lineup, take their food home. Phoning ahead will probably save you a bit of time.

Amazing fish & chips. Very good value for money. Had a single Halibut dish and was very impressed with the food taste. The serving portion is also sufficient. Fries were good too not oily at all. The dining area is very clean and spacious. I will keep coming back to ... this place. Read more
