Symposium Cafe Restaurant - Waterloo, Ontario

I dined at the Symposium Cafe Restaurant, and my experience was quite mixed. Given my fondness for butter, chicken, and rice, I opted for the butter chicken rice bowl. Unfortunately, it tasted bland to me. This could be a matter of personal taste, but it didn't hit the mark. I also ... ordered a full rack of ribs, which turned out to be quite disappointing. The inner part of the pork was cold, clearly indicating it had just been taken out of the freezer and insufficiently cooked. The exterior was somewhat cooked, but the inside was ice-cold, making it inedible for me. I prioritize well-done pork for health reasons, so this was particularly concerning. Next, I tried the chicken wings, but these were also not properly cooked. This consistency in undercooking made me wary of their meal preparation standards. On a positive note, the Seafood Pasta was delightful, well-cooked, and flavorful. The strawberry daiquiri was refreshing and well-prepared, providing a pleasant end to the meal. Went for a dessert run and there was no one in the restaurant but me and my friends. With no one else and quite a few staff in the back they took a while to make the desserts. Presentation was nice but the taste was very basic. I wouldn’t say ... it’s worth the price tag but overall the place was nice and welcoming. Read more

A pretty decent cafe with good desserts and drinks. The service was wonderful and the cakes were delicious. Had the carrot cake and though it was very good. I had a blast at Symposium Cafe! The place was super clean and had some cool decor going on. Loved that they had different options on the menu, including halal chicken. Shoutout to Amritha for taking care of us so well! She made sure we had everything we needed and ... that our food was on point. I tried the chicken tender, and while it was okay, it was a bit dry and tough to cut. Still, overall, I had a good time and can't wait to go back and try more stuff from their menu! Read more
