I asked the hostess for a different table as they were directing us to it. I told them it seems hot so they offered me the next table over which was only a little better. I am confused why they didn't put us in the living room. The sun room ... was so hot and uncomfortable. Yes I also noted to our server. It wasn't even busy and we had a reservation. They sat other people at the table we were supposed to be at, and those people also moved. the cucumber sandwich was a bit watery. The mushroom puff was a bit slimy and just too much mushrooms. The puff part felt stale. The scones were 2/5. None of the food bites were impressive. Tea selection was good. I had a much better time at the empress ( better food and better environment). The price difference is worth it. The place seem understaffed. The teapot are so old. Mine was chipped and faded. The experience was lacking here. Read more

We went just to the restaurant for breakfast. Didn’t stay in this hotel. They accommodated us without a reservation. They served freshly made scones, egg muffins which tasted great. Portions can be slightly more. It was just about enough.

Had a lovely high tea with attentive staff and good food including accomadating a food allergy. Parking can be an effort as most parking is for one hour which will not work. Also, though hotel guests have spaces they had room for one handicap parking space which would ... have been very helpful for our tea reservation. Overall though a excellent experience. Read more

My family and I visited the establishment for breakfast tea. My spouse, sibling, and I had previously enjoyed a trip to Victoria and wished to return. However, I must express my disappointment in comparison to our prior visit. I ordered scones and fruit. The scones were palatable, but one was ... advertised to contain chocolate, which was indiscernible. The fruit consisted of a single strawberry and a quarter of a sliced apple. During my last visit, I had ordered the same dish and received substantial and delectable scones accompanied by sweet cantaloupe and berries. An additional disconcerting aspect was that my son and daughter both ordered breakfast. Everyone received their orders except for my daughter. Upon inquiring about her breakfast, we were informed that it had been placed on one side of the three-tiered serving stand. Unfortunately, my son had already consumed the majority of it. I find it perplexing as to why two individuals' meals were combined. Needless to say, this oversight resulted in collective disappointment among our party. Read more

The tea and food were good, it was a lovely little experience. The service was lacking unfortunately. They were not busy at all just my husband and I and 2 other small groups, on a Monday afternoon. The server took forever, when the food was ready they did not get our ... order correctly so that took longer to get back after we waited. Then our server never asked if we needed anything, just provided the food & never checked in. I ran out of water and sat there because I thought she would come back & ask but after waiting a while I had to interrupt her and ask for more water. Just little details like this do not help the experience with how much we paid for. But all in all the tea and atmosphere was very cute & enjoyable. Read more
