Beautiful view of the harbor. Roasted ribeye steak with bone marrow croquette: could use a little better quality of meat. You have to like bone marrow to enjoy the croquette. Slow baked halibut with lemongrass, ginger and shoyu: very good.

4.5-5 overall. Enjoyed the unique twist to food. A great place for breakfast. Ample amount of seating for different sizes groups. Nothing was greasy. Well balanced flavoured in food items. We really enjoyed our dining experience at Aura. It's a fantastic waterfront option with a view of the harbour. What's unique about this restaurant is they specialize in sharing plates. I felt this way really brought my table together and creatied an even more bonding family outing. Everyone getting to ... try and compare their favorites was fun! Absolutely amazing experience earlier this year. Easily within my Top 10 all time dining experiences. The service was wonderful and attentive without being overbearing, with detailed information on all of our dishes of choice. Everything was served as it was prepared, which allowed us to enjoy it at the perfect temperature ... and over a series of courses. Each dish was cooked to perfection. The drinks were delicious and well crafted, and the signature lavender cocktail was a bit bitter, which contrasted nicely with the meal. The surprising highlight were the fingerling potatoes, they were cooked to perfection and seasoned with the right amount of bonito flakes to compliment the duck fat - and I say this as someone who enjoys neither seafood or duck. Skipped dinner, but wanted to share thoughts on happy hour. Opted for a change this New Year's and stayed at the Inn at Laurel instead of our usual Empress or Grand Pacific in Victoria. Explored the hotel bar—a chic, compact space with a gorgeous view of water and surroundings. The ... bartender's friendly service and skillful drink choices enhanced the experience. Overall, a charming spot to enjoy drinks and soak in the scenic views.
