Vij’s Sutra - Victoria, British Columbia

We tried Sutra on a whim after one of our party suggested it after having spotted it earlier that day. We made the right call! Between the four of us, we tried the pakoras, samosas, pickle chips, butter chicken, black chickpea curry, and beef brisket curry, as well as. All of ... it was delicious, with the pickle chips and brisket curry being especial standouts. Much of the menu is vegan friendly. The portions, prices, and service were all outstanding; it was a very cute spot to eat in, but I'm sure takeout/delivery would be just as good, and they also had frozen "prepare at home" meals for sale as well. Amazing!! Just amazing! The portions are large, Quick service, kind staff, clean seating and very very tasty food!! The inside is decorated as wonderfully as the food tastes. Well worth the money. Weirdly didnt give me cutlery to go though.

Absolutely flavourless food. I was expecting a lot more flavour and some spices?? Doesn’t taste like Indian food. The Dahl is undercooked and has no seasoning. Samosa tastes like nothing as well. I’m very disappointed

Probably the worst Indian food I've ever had. I got the butter chicken and a small order of pakora. The pakora was so salty that I ended up throwing it out. The butter chicken tasted pretty bad as well. The chicken seemed like it had been cooking in a slow ... cooker for ages. The only thing I liked was the piece of naan that came with the butter chicken. Stay away from this place. Pretty disappointing considering that it's supposed to be one of Vikram Vij's (from dragon's den) restaurants. I would definitely not recommend this place. Read more

Counter-service Indian that is as good and fresh as any sit-down I’ve had. Menu is limited but all excellent and a fair price. We loved the Black Chickpea Curry (vegan) and Butter Chicken. All curries come with rice and naan.
