We’d heard about how amazing this place was through multiple sources on social media and happened to be near it around dinner time and sunset so we gave it a try. There was no pine when we got there but shortly after we got our food. There were about 20 ... people in line. The fish and chips were fine but at $32 Canadian for 2 prices plus some French fries, it felt a bit expensive. There were no seats nearby but we did find a picnic table a short distance away and enjoyed the music that was part of a Wednesday night summer event. I wouldn’t wait in line for the food here and if you are going to do takeout, there are better options nearby. Read more
It is, indeed, a famous spot. We got lucky the queue was not so long, and we were able to find seats. The service is fast, and everything was delicious. I like how the fish poutine didn’t taste fishy, and it was surprisingly good. I have no problem with the ... fish and chips, too. I truly enjoyed eating here with a nice waterfront view. 😎 Before coming here, be aware that there’s no public washroom. You can sneak into the washroom at the harbour airport, though! 😅 Read more
What a great little spot right on the dock. Mind you you have to eat outside. But who really cares that’s why we’re eating at this place. I had two piece halibut and the chowder … tourist prices.. but none the less delicious. There is the likelihood of a ... huge line. Great spot to eat your food outdoors. Read more
A lovely place to get quick bites and also pocket friendly in a downtown full of pricey restaurants. We had the Salmon sandwich and the tacos. The taco isn’t sufficient if you are an hungry adult. But the sandwich is good enough. Try the fried pickles too. Later we tried ... the salmon chowder which was flavorful. The place is crowded. Not sure about parking since we were staying in downtown and this place was close by. Definitely a beautiful view . Read more
While I can't say much about this little fish and chip shop, I can vouch for the quality of the food, which was more than just okay. The service, on the other hand, was not just good, but outstanding. The staff's dedication to providing a memorable dining experience is truly ... commendable. The owner has been very creative in converting a few shipping containers into a perfect-size and efficient takeaway fish bar. Every single square inch is well-organized and competently done. You would not see a smile missing from the face of the girl behind the counter. She would politely answer and explain all the questions all the patrons asked her while she was taking and completing their orders. If I compare this Fish and Chips with real English Fish and Chips in the UK, it would be the lower top-tier fish bars in the UK. The fish was bland, and the chips were shoestring fries. Their chowder was fine, but it was very difficult to taste the fish in the Tempura Cod taco. But, on the other hand, Chowder was good, and The coleslaw is unexpectedly lemony, and not creamy. I have been a chef for many years, lived in the UK for over sixteen years, and owned over 16 restaurants in my lifetime. I am glad I picked Red Fish Blue Fish, but would I go there again? I would give them another try, as this fish and chips were much better than any I had in Oregon and Washington. Read more
