Fol Epi - Victoria, British Columbia

One of my vacation's best highlights is my morning coffee and fresh Croissants. I Googled and found this little French Bakery, Fol Epi, not far from our hotel. It took me and my wife about ten minutes to walk and get there. The area is a new neighborhood that is coming up with a ... lot of construction. As soon as we walked in, we could smell the freshly baked pastries, which smelled like baked bread, butter, sugar, rising yeast, and vanilla. We got three fresh and warm Croissants and two coffees from the next door. On the way back, we noticed a mother deer and a calf, and we had to take a few photos of them. We enjoyed everything from the patio sitting to our coffee and pastries in Fol Epi. I recommend visiting this little French bakery and the next-door coffee shop. Read more

After charging $1 to slice a $9.50 loaf of bread, these are the slices they gave me. Like, you run it through a machine, guys, how hard is it?! The stars I gave are because the bread tastes decent, but for $10.50 at least slice it like it ... wasn't chewed apart by a dog. How do I put these slivers in the toaster? Make a sandwich? Fresh, VERY delicious. I had the Cinnamon roll and Strudel. Bought a loaf of bread, can't wait to try it with some soft warm butter. Highly Recommend trying Fol Epi.

Price of a plain croissant, even if is supposed to be baked with organic ingredients, is overpriced considering the food cost. High quality bread and baked goods. There is very limited space inside to sit. However, there is a large patio outside if the weather permits. The coffee was solid as well. Prices were at the high end of the scale and were not justified. Service ... was average at best. Probably not on my list of places that I will return to on a regular basis. Read more
