The Teahouse at Abkhazi Garden - Victoria, British Columbia

We picked this place because people suggested that it has a better value than other high tea places. After the meal, I do not agree with this and I would not suggest people to come here if they are looking for that. Food was okay. There are three sets you can ... choose from: $65, $54, and $28 per person. (There's a $16.50 minimum spend per person which can get you a pot of tea and a few scones) The amount of food was generous but the quality of them was just okay. The tea was also just okay and we agreed with other comments here that they could put more tea leaves for each pot since it felt too weak. The service was very friendly but they seemed very busy and they could not provide adequate service to all tables. The atmosphere would depend on the season and location. The inside was very stuffy with no view (due to the blinds being closed). The outside was nice with a very nice view of the garden. Although you'd need to be in the shade or else it'd be uncomfortably hot. The garden itself is free and you can visit it without paying for the tea set. I'd suggest you do that instead. Read more

It was a beautiful day to enjoy a high tea at The Teahouse. We ordered two different tea services. This way we could sample more types of goodies they had on offer. We weren't disappointed with our choices. We even had some to go. The view looking out at the ... gardens and mountains in the background was a nice touch. This place is amazing and I highly recommend booking your high tea here. Comparable to any of the places I've been to in England. We sat outside on the patio and the garden is so beautiful and tranquil. The finger sandwiches and scones were absolutely delicious. The dessert tier was ... very good, except for one small blueberry tart which was just okay. Overall, it is very worth it. I think it's better all around than high tea at a larger more touristic location. For value and intimacy of experience, it's top notch. The server was super sweet and attentive and the post-tea stroll around the gardens was perfect. The only complaint I have is with the reservation system. I made a reservation over the phone, as per the website, but when we got there they had no record of it. Luckily, we were early and got a great table anyway, but it seems this could be streamlined. What a gem! All these years going to Fairmont and Butchart Gardens High Teas, not knowing about this place! Cozy, tasty, unpretentious, and classy-very, very classy! Service is beyond imaginable! Words aren’t enough-please, see the pictures! From now on that’s the only place!!!

Hands down the best teahouse in town. High quality tea and in-house made food. Windows overlook the cute garden. My out-of-town guests were very impressed by the gluten-free option and its quality.
