Cornerstone Cafe - Victoria, British Columbia

I love popping into this cafe when I'm in Fernwood. The coffee is good, and the setting is cozy. They have a cute little patio, and it's a nice location to stroll around and check out other local businesses. It can get quite busy in here, so it's sometimes hard ... to find a seat, but that just says what a great little cafe it is. My only wish is that they had a better selection of food - most often when I've gone in, they have already run out of the vegetarian options. However, I don't want to complain too much, because they are always helpful in suggesting other options, and I've never had anything I didn't like there. Read more

Great coffee spot in the hippie Fernwood Village. Serving well-poured coffee, treats, sandwiches, pizza and alcoholic beverages. Lots of table to sit down and work. I like their gluten-free morning glory muffin with an almond milk latte!

I had the Raspberry Mocha - and loved it. The seating was comfortable. I wish it'd stay open for longer but it looks like a cool place to hang out at. I might return with my laptop to do some work. I will probably return to food their other foods.

This is a laid back cafe that is owned by the local neighbourhood association. Profits are recycled into the community in the form of daycare, elderly support etc. The coffee is consistently good. The Cornerstone Cafe in Fernwood is a laid-back type of coffee shop, featuring great artwork, food, an atmosphere both relaxing in spirit and vibrant in personality. The staff is very friendly and tend to treat their customers well. The food and coffee is great. I heartily suggest the carrot cake, but ... be forewarned. It's easy to have a second piece. Each Friday the cafe hosts an open mic, featuring a wide array of artists both local and beyond. Live music shows at the cafe are not an uncommon sight, either. All in all, I would suggest the Cornerstone to Cafe to anyone who likes a little art in their lives, and just generally like to surround themselves with friendly, free-spirited and forward-thinking individuals.
