Sad to see Rosie's closed. It was a fixture downtown before it moved to Cook St. Village. It was one of the last remaining classic diners in Victoria.
Cozy place with a friendly staff. Decent and sensible portions of comfort food were served with dinner interesting brews. For more than a decade this section of Cook Street has been our regular haunt whenever we went to Victoria . Rosie's just got on our must-go list.
Cosy, friendly. Maybe it was Ping, the Asian woman who served us, (even though they were just about to close), who made us feel really welcome. :) The soup, sandwiches and salads were all good and not expensive. They even have free range eggs for sale. Anyway, I really like this place.
Thoroughly Disappointed! ...all over a glass of wine! Although the food is good value, and the staff at Rosie's are really nice, I am thoroughly disappointed with the way I have been treated recently by the owner. I’ve been a very long time customer of the Diner and feel I was ... treated unfairly and unreasonably. I was charged for two glasses of wine when I only had one. (I didn't realize this until I got home, and when I then phoned the waitress, she agreed that she’d made a mistake.) But, the owner refused to reimburse me ...very poor showing for a regular customer - or anyone for that matter! Read more
Fast and simple kid-friendly food, and terrific decor. Update: sadly, they closed the business. It's no longer open.
