It's the best Thai food in Victoria hands down! I never had any complaints quick service fresh ingredients! Looking forward to my next meal there.
I ordered for take-out, at the restaurant. The server was kind, and the turn around quicker than they had promised, which is always nice. However, the food itself had a funny aftertaste to it - almost like their oil may be a little stale, and needs to be changed. ... Every piece had the same old oil kind of taste to it (green curry, prawn pad thai, spring rolls). I think the food could have been really yummy if not for this after taste - the prawns were cooked to perfection, the ingredients seemed really nice, but unfortunately we did not finish our meals & threw away the left overs due to this funky taste. Would give the restaurant another try in the future if we know the situation is rectified. Read more
I finally after living across the street from Zap Thai on Esquimalt Rd. for 1.5 years tried their food. When I called, the staff was rude, not accommodating and quick to get me off the phone. I walked across to pick up mu order and when I got it I ... thought it smelled great. THEN, I opened my bag and tried the Tom Yum Noodle Soup with Prawns: Thai hot and sour soup with rice noodles, prawns and bean sprouts. (12.50) it actually had no noodles and literally tasted like dirty dish water with old mushroom floating on top.(this was my gf food order) I called and told them that there were no noodles in my food and he said he thought I ordered something else and there is nothing he could do. I then opened my Phad Woon Sen: Stir-fried clear vermicelli noodles with vegetables and your choice of meat (chicken, pork, or beef) or vegetarian. (12.50). Maaaaaaaaaaybe five slivers of chicken and dry noodles. The bag that was given to me for take out had no forks, spoons, knives, soy sauce or napkins, JUST TERRIBLE first and last experience. This is where I was first initiated into the world of Thai food. After being around Victoria, it's still the best kept secret in Esquimalt. Curries and pad Thai are delicious, spring rolls are addicting. If you want to try your fill, Friday buffet is an awesome deal to enjoy ... several dishes. Read more
Entering the doors was like going into a portal to a street restaurant in Bangkok. Decor inside was eclectic/nonsensical with random old transistor radios beside photos of a regal chap I assume was either the king of Thailand or potentially the owner of the restaurant. Tried the red curry which ... was savoury and had a good balance of lemongrass, chillies, garlic and ginger flavours. Friendly and prompt service from the sweet old lady in the kitchen who simply added to the charm of this spot. Read more
