Reviews for Pagliacci’s in Victoria, British Columbia
I always try my best to give places a good review but this time it was tough. We were in for breakfast. It took 40 minutes just to get a coffee. I ordered orange juice which came to the table 30 minutes after we arrived and it ... was warm. We didn't get our food for 45 minutes. The tables are way too close together. You may as well be eating breakfast with your neighbours. I guess they do this to accommodate more people but with only one server, it's way too much to handle. Plus there's an outside patio that the server was also covering. Our food was cold by the time we got it. The bacon in the omelette was burned black. The potatoes were over fried. The waiter was doing his best. The hostess was a bit frantic. Seated her parents when they arrived 10 minutes after us and they were served their food before us. Overall, a complete waste of money. The fresh bread was great. Read more
I've had the best seafood lasagna to this day! The staff were so nice. Everything tastes so fresh and flavorful. My husband had the prawn shop, it was also very yummy, rich with coconut flavor. I almost felt guilty for over-stuffing myself with the focaccia, but it was totally worth ... it! Read more
Tried this place based on Google reviews. There was a lineup but we were seated pretty quickly. It was a Thursday night and the place was absolutely packed with a very lively vibe. They had some jazz live music past 8pm too. Considered how busy it was, food came rather quickly ... and they were delicious. Kids menu was very well priced my daughter enjoyed her free Shirley Temple. I had the spaghetti and meatballs and it was really good, slightly on the spicier side but my spicy tolerance is pretty low though. All and all was a great experience the only small gripe I had was the restaurant was so packed that there weren't a lot of space. Read more
Got into Pagliacci’s on a wet Monday night. 4 people ahead of us and we waited 15 minutes. We had a cute table for two and a pleasant server. Offered complementary garlic toast slices, which were a nice treat to quell the appetite. Food Orders are available in full size and half ... size. We ordered the full size because we hadn’t eaten much; very full when done. I had the Big Easy with tomato sauce; it was mild spicy with temperature hot. Friend had the Prawn Browker and was happy with choice. Noisy fun, atmosphere, and live music started at 8 PM which added to the ambience. I can see why it’s popular; still wish you could make a reservation, but perhaps that’s part of the charm. I’ll go back, but I’m not great on waiting , so maybe 10 people max for me. Read more
I've given this place multiple chances tried different dishes - brunchs and dinner-, but this will be my last visit. After living in Victoria for over 10 years, it's a mystery how this place remains so popular. My first visit left me unimpressed with their pasta, and my opinion hasn't ... changed. The Sophia (2/5) lacked flavor; all you taste is the smoked salmon, which seemed like it came from Costco. The linguine's texture was as if it had been cooked long ago. The crab cake (3/5) was okay, with some spiciness but a non-fresh smell. The duck wing (3/5) was saturated with a spicy/salty/sweet sauce, and the meat was dry, reminiscent of BBQ sauced jerky. With so many other pasta options in Victoria, I'll be saying farewell to Pagliacci's. Read more
