Great service and the food was so good! Definitely will be back to try the carrot cake inside cheesecake

Good food (one of the better Italian food places in the area) but we were not happy with the customer service at all. Seems to be recurring pattern here - have come in the past and received poor customer service, likely will not be returning. I recommend it for take ... out if anything. Booked a large party (15-20 people) for a friend’s birthday; we asked via phone and confirmed that they split the bills and staff on the phone advices it is possible so we made reservations. First, the staff did not remember (or pay attention) to who ordered what and the serving was disorganized. Some in the party had to guess what was being served and figure out who got what because they left the plates in the middle of the table, as opposed to serving individuals their dishes. After dining and paying the bill was the real nightmare. The same staff who we had spoken to over the phone to make the reservations, served us one large bill; saying we can either pay it all together or split it 15 ways (people would be paying for food they did not eat) and she did not want to do singular/split bills because “…otherwise we’d be here for 45 minutes”. Did not make sense for someone to pay $80 and cover food that they did not consume, if the only thing they got was a $20 pizza. And if you can split the bill by the EXACT number of guests…what’s the difference between just having someone pay their own bill? As was advised to us over the phone. Had to speak to manager; who said we can split and everyone paid their own bills in under 15 minutes. More time was wasted going back and forth with the server, having to go talk to the manager, and ensuring they split the bill - than the actual individual payments. The service and atmosphere at Sapore is always great. The gentlemen who was looking after our table did an incredible job. The food this time was a little underwhelming, the diavola pizza was a big disappointment, I expected a lot better. The lamb and veal were cooked to perfection, I ... would highly recommend both dishes. There was a little miscommunication with one of the other waiters and instead of putting our leftovers in take out box, he must have thrown it out. If I could give them 1000 stars, I absolutely would. Lucien waited on us (table of 6 New Brunswick REALTORS®) and it was THE best service we've ever had. The establishment is gorgeous, the pictures don't do it justice, the portions were huge, the steak was perfectly cooked and melt ... in your mouth, the pasta was fresh and delicious, the mushroom ravioli was to die for, and our faces hurt from Lucien's company. I have no words for how beautiful and funny this human being is. We want to make a special trip from New Brunswick just to bring our families back here to experience this restaurant. Amazing Italian restaurant dining experience in Woodbridge. Had the shrimp cakes for appetizers, it was full of shrimp and no fillers. Ordered the pan seared cod with risotto, it was cooked to perfection and the dill cream was awesome. The seafood gnocchi had a stronger garlic and onion taste to it. ... For dessert, we had the carrot cake mixed with cheesecake, interesting combo that gives it a good texture. Our server Lucien stayed on top of our dinner to make sure items are served properly. His food recommendations were great and suited our tastes. Restaurant is nicely decorated with high ceilings. Everything was spotless from furniture to dining ware. Read more
