Philoxenia Greek Cuisine - Vaughan, Ontario

Our meal at Philoxenia Greek Restaurant on Yonge Street surpassed our expectations. The wonderful staff created more of a dining experience than a dinner. The meal was served family style allowing guests to savour many of the delicious, appetizing dishes.....saganaki, mountain of fried zucchini and eggplant, grilled and ... fried calamari, tender lamb chops, baked Mediterranean sea bass wrapped in salt and so much more. I was visiting Toronto and decided to have a dinner at this place as i like Mediterranean kitchen. Very “authentic” design - and i mean it in a good way. Place is busy so make reservations - i got lucky, but had i come 30 min later - likely would not ... get it. Prices are above average but worth every penny. I knew i would not be able to finish everything i ordered but i could not help it - both scallops and chicken breast were above the average. Sauces were with just the right touch of garlic. The food was amazing. Every single ingredient was fresh and unparalleled. This was probably the best pizza I've ever had in my life. The service made sure we had everything we needed promptly, and they were happy with every one of our asks while making us feel like regulars.

One of the best Greek restaurants I’ve tried in Canada hands down. Every dish is packed with flavor leaving you wanting more. The mussels and octopus appetizers were an 11/10. Also the beet salad was a hit. The atmosphere is more of an authentic Greek fine dining vibe and not ... that casual. The only downside is that the service is slow and the food takes a while to come out. With that being said, I will still come back because how good the food was. Read more
