Wimpy’s Diner - Vaughan, Ontario

I visit this location often for fish and chips, or pancakes and was absolutely appalled at what I observed tonight. I came 30 minutes before closing to order take out pancakes. The poor server looked afraid to ask the kitchen to cook food and asked me to come back another day. I persisted ... and said I came here knowing you are still open for another 30 mins. The server walked into the kitchen and asked the cook to make pancakes and I observed the cook (named Silva) yelling very loudly at this poor lady. “Get out.!! the kitchen is closed!! I hate working with you!!! etc…. I was completely disgusted and shocked.. This is workplace harassment and this person needs to be fired! He was abusive to this poor young lady many times right before my eyes. Sadly I don’t think she realized what a serious workplace violation this is. She said he always treats her like this. We went here with my friend sunday march 3 around 9:30 to 10:30, we ordered the classic bacon with egg and tomato and toast. Waffle exploision and extra 4pcs sausages and coffee... we got billed $69.99 and we paid $75.00 cash... when i got home i think that we are ... over charged and i check their menu price online and confirmed we are over charged or got a wrong bill. Today i called them back and complain but the lady who served us denying it... is there a way that they can roll the cameras howmuch we paid. During our conversation this lady told us that she received $75 dollars cash for the seats next to us. I told them we are the one who paid $75.00.... so its either she billed to us the the amount for the seats next to us and she billed them again for their billed. Read more

I went here for a brunch with my boyfriend. I ordered the chicken and waffles and a poutine and he got an egg breakfast with pancakes. My chicken and waffles was very tangy and when I told the waitress she said this is how we make it and I said Ive ... had this at many places before and it doesn’t taste like this… she said she couldn't take it off the bill and we would need to pay for it. When the bill came the waitress had paid 9$ out of her own pocket and brought us the bill. This was nice of her but I still don’t understand why she had to pay it out of her own pocket. Wimpys has many locations and this is the first time I’ve ever encountered this type of experience. The waitress was not the problem it was just the whole situation. Great waiters and the food was delicious. I suggest trying the the Wimpy’s omelette and poutine. The breakfast there is the best!

New review March 2019: Definitely not like place regardless of the new management and staff. Lets put it this way...one of the waitress is really condescending and it was to talking to me like I'm mentally challenged. She asked me if I'm hungry...what kind of question is that... "No I come to Wimpy's ... to dance...". She asked if the food is ok and when I responded "not really" and then she ignored me and moved on to my surprise. With the first occasion I have asked her why did she put the question if my opinion doesn't matter or counts. Let's go over the actual food. I ordered Benedict Salmon. There was no Salmon as I imagined. There were 2 thin strips of smoked Salmon laid on two pieces of bread. Everything was covered with some eggs and added some home made fries on the side ( I believe that's the name used on the menu) The price was13.99$. For this price, in an actual restaurants I will get an actual Salmon. Definitely waist of money and time. I don't recommend it to anyone. Please see the pics. Also I need to mention that the salmon strips were frozen. My girlfreind ordered medium rare steak and she got am medium well steak.
