Great service and delicious food. Also kimchi is one of the best we tried. Went just before 5pm on a holiday and we were the only ones there. But after the meal, more than half the tables were full. Dumplings were fresh and hot. Kalguksu taste was good but didn’t have enough ... ingredient/meat. Cold noodle was refreshing. Read more
Their kimchi is phenomenal! Probably one of the best I've had. Their dumplings were also out of this world. They are huge. Also the noodle with ribs, the meat practically fell of the bone. Nice broth too. While the server I had was rather rude (we saw her getting angry ... because some tables left "not enough" tips and even forced one of the guests to take their tips away because she didn't want it), the place itself was cozy enough and will get packed easily during lunch and dinner time, so you might have to wait. Overall it's a great food to try! Read more
So many memories here. First date w/ my gf. The over-ordering and sharing of many dishes w/ my friends. Since my last review they no longer only serve 3 things. They now have bossam, jokbal and also big beef rib kalguksu on the menu! That beef rib kalguksu is one of the ... best value items in york region. You get THREE beef ribs and a ton of fresh noodles. The bowl is bigger than your usual bowl. The broth is incredible and the noodles are nice and chewy. The jokbal and the bossam are also phenomenal. The bossam is actually melt-in-your-mouth texture and while the jokbal is not as good as say Hanyang Jokbal, it's still very tender and flavourful. Last but not least, CMON. DAT KIMCHI. It still hasn't been topped for me. Extremely garlicky with that homemade fermented taste. I'd be able to recognize that kimchi with a blindfold on. Ppl are always comparing this resto to Jin Korean Noodles over near Times Square. I tried that place that and while I thought it was good, I really dnt understand why ppl are giving it such high ratings. Imo, this place is the OG and the food is arguably tastier and better value-wise (larger portions). Maybe cuz it's still the "newer" kid on the block or perhaps because it's in a more regularly frequented location? FURTHERMORE, Jin's menu is VERY similar to this place. The only difference is they don't have big beef ribs, jokbal or bossam but rather, combo sizzling plates for bulgogi and spicy pork. Their kimchi is also similar to Myungdong's but I think Myungdong just has that little bit extra OOMPH to put it over the top for me. Read more
My favourite king sized dumplings in this city. Large portions and great tasting! Would recommend the kalguksu, rice cakes, and dumplings!
I really enjoyed the broth here! It was not too spicy and was very flavourful. The noodles are soft and chewy and they go hand in hand with the broth. The kimchi and mandu were also very good. This place is also very spacious and has quite a few tables ... so there’s no need to worry about signing up for a waitlist. Read more
