Reviews for The Fish Counter in Vancouver, British Columbia
I am a huge fan of fish and chips. This place becomes one of my favorite. I ordered cod n chip + clam chowder. If you are used to creamy chowder then you might not like it. Fish is very good and fries are excellent. This place beats all the one in ... Richmond BC. Deep fried foods are all greasy but at least after eating their fish & chips, it doesn’t make me feel I have a scoop of oil inside my mouth. Read more
This is the place to go for casual fish and chips dining. More like fast food vibes rather than restaurant vibes. The fish and chips were out of this world - the batter was light and crispy, and the fish was cooked to perfection. The Bouillabaisse was also a standout, ... with a rich and flavorful broth and generous portions of seafood. But the real highlight of my meal was the scallop bites, which were incredibly fresh and tender. Overall, I was thoroughly impressed with The Fish Counter's commitment to serving high-quality, sustainable seafood, and I can't wait to go back! Special shoutout to Amir, who provided top-notch service with a contagious smile! Read more
Every time I pass by this place, it’s usually busy and with people waiting outside. Today was different, there was only 2People eating when we arrived around 12:30pm. Ordered the dairy free clam chowder, 2piece halibut and chips and a coke. A party of 3 came in after us just ... as the party of 2 was leaving. Our order was brought to the table of 3, even though the person who took our order was the one who brought it to them. Not sure how he got our orders wrong as it was only us two party in the place and he took both orders. The clam chowder was too salty and a small serving and it was $9.99. At $11.99, the BC bouillabaisse was almost 50% larger and might have been a better choice. The batter on the 2piece halibut was very light and crunchy, but the halibut was a bit dry. The serving size for the halibut was larger than other fish&chip places. Overall, a bit disappointed with the mixed up orders, the salty clam chowder and dry halibut. Decent food but I was expecting more due to the usual business of the place. Might give this place another try, as it might have been an off day… Read more
Amazing fish and chips! I’m not a huge fan of fish and chips most of them time, but the quality here is amazing and the portion size was perfect too. Delicious! The fish taco was decent, but not something I would order again.
Great service. The fish and chips were good as was the Caesar salad. Unfortunately the Bouillabaisse fell a little short of the mark due to it being a bit too salty for my taste. But we will be back to try other stuff on the menu.
