Patron Tacos & Cantina - Vancouver, British Columbia

We were visiting Vancouver for just a day, and came across the restaurant as it was right by where we parked. The outdoor seating looked amazing as it was right next to the street, so you had a nice view of what was around. We decided to stop and grab a ... few apps/small plates to keep us occupied until we had to move on to our next destination. The food was decent, came out very quickly. Great place for Mexican food and drinks! We tried the Queso Fundido with Chorizo, Chimichangas, Wet Burrito, and Alambre. Everything was delicious! Nice ambiance to sit, chat, and try some different types of Margaritas!

I recently visited this Mexican restaurant and had a mixed experience. The only dish I really enjoyed was the carne asada; it was flavorful and well-cooked. The rest of the food was just okay and seemed a bit pricey for what it was. On the plus side, the ambiance was ... nice, and the staff speaks Spanish, which adds to the authentic feel. Beautiful ceiling with beautiful star lights. Great atmosphere. We ordered the parrillada and it was delicious. Only the beef was a little too salty. The service was excellent. Will come back again.

A busy Sunday night, but, we were able to get a table for two. The cantina was a short walk from our hotel & we were tossing between Mexican or Italian food. Mexican food won... Pros: ▪︎ Overly generous dishes (could have fed 2 - 3 people); ▪︎ Quick service from friendly wait ... staff; ▪︎ Modern decor & ambience; ▪︎ Patronized by younger generation. ▪︎ Tasty & authentic Mexican American dishes; ▪︎ Great selection of beers & alcoholic/non-alcoholic drinks. Cons: ▪︎ Would have appreciated advice from wait staff about the enormous/generous servings; ▪︎ Loud & noisy (conversation was impossible); ▪︎ Not enough spaces between tables.
