Excellent QUALITY, authentic sushi. Everything was very fresh. Not expensive nor cheap but you are eating raw fish, so better to pay a little more for quality.

Lots of the nigiri were not fresh, unfortunately. I was left with an off taste in my my mouth after lunch. Had to get miso soup to wash it down. Chirashi have the same problem. It just wasn't fresh. Their rice was really good though so while I didn't enjoy the ... fish, I still enjoyed rice with soy sauce. Lol. Baked scallops were decent. Ankimo is a big no no for me here. They forgot the sauce to begin with but it doesn't have a good texture or flavour for me. And I usually love ankimo everywhere. From this experience, even with many good reviews online, I won't be returning. This place is not for me :/ P.S. I did like their anago nigiri, engawa nigiri, and miso soup though. Read more

There are not a lot of places that the food looks as good as it shows on the menu but this place nailed it! We ordered the Bento Set and Himawari donburi and everything tastes so fresh and delicious! Even the side veggies that came in the bento set are tasty. ... The price is very reasonable for what you get. Definitely will go back and try other menu. The service is very warmth and lovely. Nana provided exceptional service and the food was excellent! Sashimi was extremely fresh and the Omakaze set was great value as well. Definitely will come back again.

I have tried Uma Sushi during one of their private catering dinner event in West Van. I cannot really gauge the atmosphere since I have not been to their physical restaurant.
