Manna Sushi Japanese Restaurant - Vancouver, British Columbia

Had a quick lunch with my son here yesterday. I love that they have the black rice option for their sushi. Got two lunch set menus for both of us. Boy, left feeling very full. 3* because the tuna sashimi wasn’t fresh— it was very soggy. Obviously, I can tell it ... was defrosted from being frozen but probably it wasn’t fresh even before it was frozen or… it was defrosted a few times. Just not as good as the other sushi places around. I told the staff and she just said well, it was frozen so it’s either you eat a frozen one or a defrosted one which is that. I was like ????? Salmon sashimi is not like that. I’ve asked her to address this to the kitchen but never got back with a feedback so I guess my comment was only taken with a grain of salt. I’d only come back here if I want to eat something quick and go since there’s no lineup. Atmosphere looks quite dated which I don’t really mind. Overall, good presentation looks good, value is ok, freshness of tuna sashimi needs to be better since they’re not cheap. Read more

Fantastic food! And I read some of the other reviews about the chairs, the chairs were fine when I went. I don’t understand why someone pointed out. The restaurant is bigger than I expected, plenty of comfortable seating. Has the red chicken and some rolls and loved every bite!! Prices ... are great too. Very nice restaurant! The Deep fried oyster and super rainbow sushi roll were delicious and well-portioned. Seating was comfortable and pricing was reasonable. Service was friendly!

The food was enjoyable, although I was surprised to find primarily sofa seats available, leaving me with one of the uncomfortable and cramped non-sofa seats. Additionally, the constant flow of pick-up and delivery personnel passing by my table was a bit distracting. Apart from these issues, everything else was satisfactory.

This is a great sushi place with sushi that tastes very fresh; great service and reasonable prices. I’ve come here quite a few times bringing work colleagues and family. We ordered the futomaki and it is the freshest I’ve ever tasted. The real Alaska roll with real crab was also a ... treat as was the volcano roll. We also ordered a wild salmon and avocado roll and agedeshi tofu which was crispy on the outside and tender on the inside. All the dishes were excellent and they came out quickly!
