The Old Spaghetti Factory - Vancouver, British Columbia

The pulse of Gastown has to be The Old Spaghetti Factory, a building that has quite literally stood the test of time, still attracting customers to this day as easily as they did a decade ago. Yes, that's how long I've been frequenting this establishment. Long enough for ... them to exile my favorite Spaghetti With Clam Sauce dish, which I still mourn to this day. Of course I've found a replacement dish, but nothing beats your first love. That Spaghetti With Clam Sauce was the first dish I ever tried at Old Spaghetti Factory, so it carries a special place in my heart. Having said that, this is one of the few places that I seem to find myself at more often than not. The price is right and the food is delicious. Shockingly, they really haven't changed all that much over the years, so it's very much comfort food at this point. There's just something about filling yourself up with the complimentary bread and garlic butter that always makes me laugh. You can get full just from the bread, never mind your main course. But if you do happen to have the appetite for it, I highly recommend the Calamari, one of my go~to dishes that has just the perfect ratio of crunch to chewiness. And let's not forget their infamous Spumoni Ice Cream, which, truth be told, sometimes I've just been too stuffed to partake in. Friendly and efficient service also makes dining here a very enjoyable experience. I have yet to receive subpar service here, and I highly doubt I ever will. A wonderful restaurant to visit at Gas Town - warm & decorative design environment. The "It's All Included" meals were great - you can enjoy the soup or salad, bread, main dish, dessert, & also coffee or tea in an inexpensive price. Service was attentive although I observed that there might not ... be enough servers for such a large restaurant at that time (I was there at 11:30 a.m., no one was at the reception area & had to wait for a while to be seated - a table for 4). However, when we were seated, we were greeted promptly. I especially would like to compliment the server Victoria, she had a very pleasant personality. She was very busy at that time but still wore a friendly smile. Kudos to her!!! Definitely will visit this restaurant again. Read more

Wonderful service and atmosphere! I visited at 3 PM, and it was already packed with customers. If you go during peak times, you might have to wait in line. I ordered the meat sauce spaghetti and got it in less than 10 minutes(super fast, and surprised haha.) The taste was simple ... but not bad. but the customer service and atmosphere were amazing! Great service !! Our server was very attentive. We were served almost right away with a delicious loaf of warm bread and butter. The mussels are so delicious and fresh. The sauce is just right. Found this place on the water st and one of the most pocket friendly places. They have all included menu where the mains are served with sourdough bread and butter, soup and icecream at the end. Its wholesome. We also got some beer and wings - wings were average their ... house barbecue sauce was too sweet and not that great. Overall a good experience but the food quality can be better!
