Ananda Bhavan Dosa & Tandoori - Vancouver, British Columbia

Today I ordered Onion Masala Dosa and Aloo Poori and was extremely disappointed with the food. The Onion Masala Dosa was undercooked and inedible, lacking all spices and seasoning. Both the dosa crepe and the stuffing were raw. The aloo served with the poori was identical to the stuffing inside ... the dosa—raw and unpleasantly smelling. Aloo Poori is a simple and straightforward dish, yet they still failed to get it right. I tried a little bit of my order and ended up with a stomachache. It makes me wonder if the chefs have ever tasted their own food. I strongly suggest they visit other South Indian restaurants to understand how this cuisine should be prepared. Read more

Really great food! Very authentic south India flavors..

A very good dosa in a cozy clean and friendly atmosphere. The sambar and side dishes were very flavorful and the service was great. It was well worth trying out this family run business that is serving up very good Indian curries and dosa.

The food in this place is great. Indian home made, food to die for. Their Prawn Pepper Masala was DELICIOUS and their parotas simply the best. Their mango lassi simple teleports you to the south of India (mmmmmmm). Incredible. We’ll come back many times :)

This restaurant is A Hidden Gem Located right near an easy accessible location in Vancouver (Kingsway & Nanaimo). Seems to be a family owned business and food exceeded expectations and this is coming from someone from South Asian decent! The owner was extremely friendly was very welcoming. He gave me son ... loving attention and this made my day as a single mother trying to celebrate Valentine's Day with her parents and a son.
