foods are okay, like the pork meat, pretty crispy, their spring roll is not really good. garlic rice is awesome. rice noodles is kinda plain and shrimp only 3 in the orders with some veggies on it. bit too sweet or too salty in my opinion.

Googled Filipino food in Vancouver and this restaurant came up. First impressions, cute little outdoor space, just one small table for two that's cornered off from the main sidewalk. It's actually where we sat 🙂 Inside, they have full tables that they sometimes connect together for bigger parties. Nice atmosphere ... but Filipinos can be loud and fun so be warned (IYKYK 😝).. this is not where you bring a date. Food was good. We ordered garlic rice and two dishes (sizzling flaked milkfish and pork belly with shrimp paste). Service was great too. Despite being outside separated from the rest, the server kept coming out to check if we needed anything. Will go back if given the chance and will try their other dishes. There was a group that was doing the communal meal on banana leaf and that looked amazing 🤩 a must-do if I found a group that would want to share a meal that way. Read more

I was quite disappointed with the sisig I ordered. The only reason why I got food here because I liked the one in Coquitlam, but I found the one I had here was lacking. I know according to the menu it’s made out of pork ears, but shouldn’t sisig consist of several ... parts of pork meat? There was not even protein there, it was just pork ears, fat and copious amounts of onions. I don’t have any problem with these 3 main ingredients but i thought it should’ve been more than 3.. Sisig is one of my many favourite Filipino dishes back home and even lived in Pampanga for a while. I know there are many ways in preparing Sisig and its contents, but it shouldn’t only this few especially for $21. And, they’re cheap parts of meat. (Yes I know there’s egg there but traditionally, egg is just an option. Pork is still the main dish. But, they crack the egg on the sisig on the hotplate and it cooks as it is being served. The egg here seems to be fried on a flat top before being placed on the dish.) Not sure if it’s because I’m in Vancouver and we get this in exchange. Otherwise, food tastes close to home. I think the MSG/umami tastes a bit strong as there was a lot of strong flavour there. Service was alright and ambience is good too. I just don’t think it’s worth the price at all for the contents they served. And chewing on mostly pork fat was a bit hard to get through. Read more

We recently visited this Filipino restaurant and were thoroughly impressed with the food and service. We ordered the coconut milk vegetables and the crispy pork, both of which were absolutely delicious! The coconut milk vegetables were fresh and flavorful. The eggplant and squash were cooked to perfection, tender yet still retaining a ... bit of bite. The coconut milk added a rich and creamy texture, perfectly complementing the vegetables and creating a harmonious blend of flavors. Each bite was a delightful experience, with the aromatic coconut enhancing the natural sweetness of the vegetables. The crispy pork was another highlight of our meal. The pork was perfectly crispy on the outside while remaining juicy and tender on the inside. The contrast in textures made every bite exciting and satisfying. The seasoning was spot on, adding just the right amount of flavor without overpowering the natural taste of the pork. The overall dining experience was wonderful. The staff were friendly and attentive, making sure we had everything we needed and checking in on us regularly. The ambiance of the restaurant was warm and inviting, providing a comfortable setting for our meal. We highly recommend this restaurant to anyone who loves Filipino cuisine or is looking to try something new. The quality of the food and the excellent service make it a must-visit. The quality and presentation of the Filipino food at Kulinarya was excellent! Three of us shared spring rolls, kare-kare, lechon kawali and pancit canton. The spring rolls were served straight from the fryer, they were piping hot, crunchy without being oily and with a good amount of filling, The lechon kawali ... (deep fried pork belly) had flavourful skin and was tender and moist. Kare-kare (beef and veggies in peanut sauce) was also very good and quite photo worthy. Wasn't a big fan of the very fatty beef in the dish though. Was great on garlic rice. Lastly, the pancit canton, which is usually a favourite was just okay being too salty for my taste. Service was polite and efficient, but nothing memorable. Same can be said about the ambience - a nice and casual setting but nothing to write home about. I base my reviews heavily skewed toward the food, and on that basis I give Kulinarya 5 stars. Read more
