Mean Poutine - Vancouver, British Columbia

Recently had a chance to try this tiny place called Mean Poutine in the heart of Vancouver downtown and it was some experience. The customer service was good, and the staff was friendly. The food was tasty , but have tried better poutines …. We ordered fried chicken poutine and it ... could use a little more gravy, it felt little dry. Buffalo chicken chunks are tasty. Probably worst poutine I ever had. Served cold. I went back and nicely asked for some gravy to be put on the cheese because it was super cold (even though I prefer not to have soggy fries) and she said in a rude tone of voice that it’s obviously cold ... because the cheese is in the fridge. And I was surprised because obviously everywhere they keep their cheese in the fridge and they serve poutine warm / hot. But said it was super cold nicely trying to explain and again she rudely answered, … I was like may you add some hot gravy so it heats up (even though I actually *hate* soggy fries) and she again in a rude tone of voice said it’s 1 dollar for extra gravy. Lady, you shouldn’t be serving gross cold food first of all!!! The woman’s attitude was horrible and NO actually, in my whole life I was never served poutine where the cheese was super cold- ever in my life. Absolute worst poutine and the woman who works there shouldn’t be serving people food, she has a horrible attitude. Didn’t eat much because I didn’t enjoy it - but most of all just left with a bad memory. Some people need to think of why they push so much negativity on to others. Don’t have a good photo cause I only take good photos when I want to post on Instagram (and I didn’t want to post this memory) but here’s on now before I throw it out. Love me some Mean Poutine. Been coming here for late night cravings on the regular for quite some time now. A great consistent spot. Great fries. My favorite poutines from them are cheeseburger, mean and green and classic. Really nice team of people who work there. I usually take my ... poutine to go. Wish they put more cheese curds and toppings on (especially as the mushrooms were low quality and an extra dollar), but serving size was quite large for the price and it was otherwise good. There are better places nearby for poutine.

Best gourmet poutine out there. Some way cool Variety’s like the Philly cheese steak, southern bbq, meat supreme. We loved our poutine and we are poutine carnivores! Simple shop on the roadside. The worker, Hana, from Iran, was extremely kind and helpful. Super quick and relatively affordable. Merci!!! :)
