I love everything about this place. I’ve been a regular here for years, but for some reason, I’ve never ordered their pizza until now. I didn’t know that Lombardo’s was the first wood oven pizza place in Vancouver, and I can’t believe it took me so long to try it. I ... ordered a Capricciosa, and it was incredible. We had a large group gathering and the restaurant accommodated us perfectly. The atmosphere & food were quintessentially Italian. The service was fantastic & the food delicious. We booked and organized a diverse group here and had a great time with excellent food. The staff was attentive, and the food and timing between different courses were perfectly handled. I had been going here for years and the food is terrible now. Seems like the new owners don’t really know how to make pizza and pasta. They seem to always have new servers learning and they get the orders wrong. I ordered shell pasta with a creamy meat sauce ... and I got penne with chopped tomatoes and chicken chunks. I don’t understand how they can go so wrong. It wasn’t even busy in there. They were at least nice about it and understood that they haven’t done a good job with taking orders correctly. We had the wings and the #8 pizza on the menu. Crust was great, flavour was up there and good ingredients. Wings tasted similar to earls restaurant - and we like that style.
