Great food especially if you like a higher level of hotdogs. You can also find perogies, check out the combos, and the menu in the pictures. You won't regret it. Enjoy...
Stopped in for a quick bite and a Stiegl draft pilsner. Quick and efficient service, good food. My daughter had the Reuben sandwich and I had perogies with spicy German sausage, which hit the spot nicely.
My first time, I got a Ruben on Rye and it was SO GOOD. I think it was my favorite thing I had on my lil weekend trip. So warm, cheesy, tangy. I wish it came with chips or something but it did come with pickle spears on the side. I ... will definitely come back! Read more
Food: Simple, but yummy food that pairs well with beer! Nothing too oily or fat, it's all just the right amount. The bratwurst is very refreshing to eat too. The pierogi plate was about $19 and 10oz beer $8 Service: Can order from the store front or go around the corner and eat ... outside. They have a small seating area to eat, drink and relax. You'll have to be vocal and wave the servers to your table when you need something. Main focus is the store front rather than the back. Servers are all kind and courteous people! Atmosphere: Busy and crowded. Your eating at a food court or their seating area in the back. Can be difficult when super busy. But at least you have a nice scenery of the market or the area outside. This is the stuff that we of eastern european descent live for. We were in Granville Public Market for just a few hours for dinner on our first night in the city and we're drawn to the comfort delights and available vegetarian options at Kaisereck. My wife and I shared a ... bowl where they combined the 2 types of vegetarian perogies (Chedder and Potato, and Potato and Onion) topped with sour cream and carmelized onions. It was a decent first course in our self-guided dinner tour through the market. These perogies aren't deep fried so they have a nice healthier tasting housing for their insides. Good stuff! Had we not had a plan to sample a lot of little things throughout the market, I definitely would have tried a version of one of their sausage plates using the available vegan Beyond Sausage which looked like a descent effort to make vegetarians feel like real people. ;) Poutine is available too (though not sure if the grvy is vegetarian) and their pretzels with available cheese dip look pretty solid as well.
