Reviews for Fassil Ethiopian Restaurant in Vancouver, British Columbia
The hole in the wall family owned 3star atmosphere makes this place even more 5 star. Owner will tell you what to eat and scold you if you don’t eat it. We go because of him and his shaving food. By far the best Ethiopian place in the city.
The pictures we saw just looked amazing and the food is ! But our portions were considerably smaller than what we saw in other reviews to the point we went and got dinner elsewhere. Wish we would have got more food or been charged more for more food or got ... more food like others did in their pictures. Read more
Can't believe it has taken me this long to try Ethiopian food. So so delicious, I loved everything on this plate. Went with the lamb and the mixed veg but will definitely try the other proteins next time. Don't sleep on Ethiopian like I did!!
First time eating Ethiopian food at a sit-down restaurant and it was splendid. I got the doro wot & my friend got the vegetarian dish. Immaculate taste & perfect quantities at a reasonable price. The restaurant was also so cozy and warm- you could spend hours in there conversing. The ... owner was also so sweet and understanding. Read more
On a positive note, the family was lovely, but we went for the food. The portions were smaller than the pic shown from 5 months ago, but there is a lot of injera bread to fill you up. However the biggest disappointment was the lamb. It was very salty, dry ... and rubbery. It had the texture of microwaved meat. We had the Veggie combo and the lamb. We spent $35 and got one glass of water filled which we shared. Fassil came highly recommended by friends, but we were disappointed. Read more
