Say Hello Sweets - Vancouver, British Columbia

Picked up a selection of items from Say Hello Sweets earlier this year using my Plant Curious coupons! It's a small shop and the staff member had to unlock the front door to let us in (this was in the early evening). Their Ice Dream Sandwiches were great, they're a ... nice plant-based alternative to the regular chocolate/vanilla sandwiches. Although, they're not cheap at $8.50 per sandwich. They only had their Strawberry Freeze-Dried Ice Cream available at the time I went. These were our least favourite; they are so sweet, too sweet in my opinion. I suppose it's the cane sugar and coconut milk. I would skip this item and instead get their signature ice cream cubes. Meet Your Matcha is the best plant-based ice cream I've ever had. The matcha flavour is so potent, it's creamy and everything you want in an ice cream! The packaging is paper so it melts quite quickly (and gets sticky) when it's not kept frozen, so work fast when you're taking some out to eat. Would recommend overall! Read more

Got an 8 inch ice cream cake for a birthday celebration. Was delicious. None of us are vegan and we all enjoyed it thoroughly, couldn't that the entire thing was plant-based! Also got a pint of the black sesame ice cream, absolutely delicious. Flavours are impactful without being overly sweet. ... Will definitely come back! Read more

I used one of my plant based deals book coupons to get some "Space Rabbit" freeze dried ice cream from Say Hello Sweets . We got one bag each of strawberry, vanilla, and chocolate. The texture was hard and crunchy, similar to the texture of honeycomb or perhaps a ... meringue. It was extremely sweet and not something I'd ever want to eat again. Do astronauts really eat this stuff? I think if I were an astronaut I'd prefer to stick with freeze dried fruits and veggies. Hard pass on the freeze dried ice cream for me. Still glad we tried it though and satisfied our curiosity! Even though it wasn't really my cup of tea, I'm gonna give it the benefit of the doubt and assume that it wasn't really the fault of the shop but that it was just the nature of the product itself. This is easily the best vegan ice cream I've ever had. I could truly not tell the difference. I had the fudge which was decent, but the mint chip blew me away. It was so fresh and creamy. My friends tried toasted marshmallow and matcha and loves their flavours too. ... It's definitely a really cute spot. The staff are lovely. You can't go wrong here! Read more

Delicious dairy free ice cream that's made with coconut and cashew milk. The texture is really smooth and creamy. And overall, it wasn't too sweet. I don't usually get banana flavoured things because it always tastes artificial or too sweet for me. But their banana bread ice cream was ... tasty. It tasted just like homemade banana bread. Their waffle cones were crisp and didn't have any ice cream dripping from the bottom. I also saw them bring out a slice of ice cream cake and it looked delicious. I would definitely comeback for their ice cream. Especially since I'm lactose intolerant, it's great to have this option for dessert. Read more
