Pink Pearl, the beloved Chinese restaurant I've been frequenting since the 1980s. This place is a true Vancouver staple, especially popular among the Asian community. I believe the longest standing Asian restaurant. Well the neighborhood is a bit sketchy, there was security keeping on things and we felt safe. The atmosphere ... here is always welcoming, with friendly staff who’ve seen it all from mullets to man buns. The portions are legendary—bring a forklift for your leftovers! While the food may not win Michelin stars, it’s comforting and satisfying. On our recent visit, we enjoyed Chicken 🐔 corn 🌽 soup, shrimp 🍤 fried rice, and Kung Pao chicken 🍗—all classic, decent-quality dishes. Although, this place is known for the dim sum. Now, let’s talk about the food. The dishes are exceptionally delicious—each one is a winner! The ingredients are ample, and the flavors are rich. The service is prompt, even when we sat in a slightly secluded area. The attentive staff continuously brought dishes and cleared plates. What sets this place apart is its iconic food trolley. Vancouver doesn’t have many early morning tea shops that still use food trolleys, but this restaurant stands out. The trolley offers a diverse selection of dishes, and the servers frequently come by to inquire.
