My favourite go to place for anything Canto. And the spacious dining space means never having to wait for a table. Love the banquet seating. As you can see, I'm obsessed with the beef chow mein. It's the best in town, with its crispy caramelized noodles saturated in beef gravy.

They have the best egg tarts in Vancouver, strong milk tea, and consistent food for a good value. The pork chop on rice is a classic. It's one of my favourite places in Chinatown.

A classic HK restaurant in Chinatown. They have the usual big menu filled with tasty HK treats. They have a full bakery as well. Service is quick and portion sizes are good value for a Canadian restaurant. Parking is paid from the street and nearby lot. I'm a big fan of Hong Kong old school diners. My fiance and I were looking for a decent one that's close to home and provided authentic HK diner style dishes. Needless to say this place hit all these points. The food is typical of what you would expect from ... an HK style diner. But in comparison to many I've been to I have to say that Gold Stone Bakery and Restaurant is definitely in my top 3. You can even take some Chinese baked goods home. This place has been such a classic, staple Hong Kong style cafe in GVRD. It is great to be able to visit. The lunch specials are $9.95 that comes with a hot drink. We were seated right away when we got there at 12:30pm on a Friday. I ordered a ... baked spaghetti bolognese and a yin yeung (coffee tea drink). Order came surprisingly fast for a baked spaghetti (less than 10 mins). My co-workers' orders didn't come as fast - waited extra 10-15 mins for them to come. Then yeung was a little too milky and not enough of the coffee or milk taste. I noticed the sign by the baked buns, "6 buns for $6". Upon asking, all buns (including egg tarts) are considered in the deal. I got excited and bought a dozen buns - $12 and no tax! The hubs and I tried the cream with coconut shreds bun - there are tons of cream, the cream is tasty, and the bun is fluffy. We also tried the coconut paste pineapple bun (so, it is the baby of a pineapple bun and a cocktail bun) - the filling is pretty decent.
