So torn between giving this place 2 or 3 stars but decided on 3 because our server was just that great. Everything about this place should be good; the location, the patio, the nice decor and atmosphere. The problem lies in the food. It just isn’t good. The prices very well ... reflect the quality of the food which is poor to say the least. I won’t lie the 2 for 1 pasta deal is awesome, you almost can’t beat it anywhere. Except the pasta tastes and looks like it’s been cooked, stored and reheated in a microwave, even down to the fact that the plate was hot like the food. The menu has a whole lot of stuff that sounds delicious but I just don’t think it is. It also has stuff that throws you off a bit like ramen, chow mein and kimchi, which makes sense because the owners seem to be Asian but it doesn’t really make sense with the rest of the menu. It seems like more of a last resort type of restaurant than anything. I hope the next time, if ever, I come here, the Caucasian server is still there because he is absolutely fantastic, very thorough and friendly, makes the experience so so so much better. The quality of this place really seems to have gone downhill since the new management takeover. Read more
Good little neighborhood spot. The filet was definitely 5 star. The lamb was 3.5 just because the sauce had sour cream on it from the beans. So that was a strange taste for me personally.
I had a very bad experience at this place. The waitress nicely offered the happy hour menu, and even if we did not plan to eat, the menu seemed appealing, so we changed our mind. When we wanted to order, the waitress did not pay attention, she totally ignored us, regardless ... that I clearly indicated that we want to order. When she came finally, it was 6:03pm and she said that "oh sorry, the happy hour is not available anymore." She totally screwed us over. Awful service. We ordered something for the full price, well, it was okay. Nothing special, and is not worth for the price. Read more
Good place to grab a drink and a meal in Kitsilano. Make sure Chef Dennis Huang is cooking though for dinner. Burgers are really good here, happy hour grilled cheese a deal as well as Monday's pasta night.
We went for a drive after work in a sunny end of summer evening aimlessly looking a restaurant to dine in. We originally thought to eat in Kerrisdale but continued to Arburtus until we saw Gramercy Grill. It's been years since I dined at Gramercy. I did hear the menu ... changes to Japanese food and now back to regional Northwest food. It was quiet on a Wednesday evening as there were 3-4 other guests dining in. The menu had a range of offerings for starter, mains and dessert. We shared the boneless chicken and it wax perfectly crispy and not too oily. For my main I had the House Made Italian Meatballs with ragu sauce & Parmesan cheese. This was perfect for my dietary needs no carbs or sugar and I was satisfied. My hubby ordered the Chicken Parmigiana and he said he really liked the entree. We opted out of dessert. I felt super comfortable and safe dining in. I noticed some locals coming in to dine as the server knew them by name. I hope Gramercy Grill can drum up more business to bring it back to the busy as I remember some time ago. Stay safe and healthy! Read more
