Fable Diner - Vancouver, British Columbia

Almost 5*. Fable has always been one of our go to/ or default brunch places in Vancouver. We came here as a family of four. Breakfast menu is pretty standard but prices vs. portioning is ok. I'm happy I didnt have to line up. Cons would be the long wait for ... the food, and the inconsistency of how the bacon/ chicken/ etc. is being prepared. After we were seated, had to wait for almost an hour for hour food. The place was full though in fairness, the staff was doing their best. Parking is a challenge due to the subway construction in the area. We'll still be back. But not when we're in a rush. Read more

The atmosphere was really clean and gave off modern diner vibes! Nice place for brunch. I didn’t realize they had a trivia night and a boozy brunch! I’m curious what the price of boozy brunch would be but either way it was a good time. I also loved how they ... make their own hot sauces in house. I absolutely love hot sauce so was super excited to try it out. The green sauce was the spiciest while the red sauce was the mildest. I actually liked the yellow one the best which was right in the middle of spicy but had an interesting vinegar profile to it. Read more

We ordered the duck pancakes and fried chicken Benny. They were good. I find the weekend brunch to be much better. The only negative is that the puffed charred rice? Staff were great and friendly. The duck pancake was good except the kimchi overpowered the dish and made some parts of my pancake soggy. Hubby loved the fancy strawberry milkshake. He wasn’t a big fan of the meatloaf sandwich.

*update* Just found out they canned her for heres a 1 star fable This place has a nice vibe and wonderful service. I was served by “Taryn” very sweet and kind young woman even though she was slammed with the other customers she still managed to get my order of a boozy milkshake. ... Shows that she loves her job and cares. Gave her a good $$$ tip! Will definitely come back! Also they have trivia nights and brunch days so thats a plus. Wish the downtown location served milkshakes though! Read more
