Bistro Verde - Vancouver, British Columbia

I came here because Nordstrom is closing and I wanted to try the restaurant once! However, it's very expensive. Tacos were $11 for 2 small hard shell ones. They were so delicious but what a crazy price. Soup of the day, salmon chowder, was fresh and delicious. But a small cup is ... $6.75. A fountain drink will set you back $4.25. Overall a nice experience, but not sure it's one I'll repeat. Server didn't seem happy that I didn't want to splurge on drinks/food. But the views were beautiful, it made me feel like I was celebrating something. I came here at 11:00 AM on Friday, right when it opened, and it filled up shortly. We weren't serviced well in my opinion. They never came around to refill our water or ask us how we were doing at all after the food came out. They spent ample time chatting up other tables though. We still give them a tip because servers don't get fair wage, ... but it wasn't a pleasant experience. Food is okay, you pay for the downtown price and it's conveniently located in Nordstrom. We made reservations but didn't get a window seat. We'll go somewhere else next time. Read more

Partially disappointing food. Good ambiance and service. I ordered a Caesar, appetizer Tacos and chicken sausage rigatoni. Caesar was bitter. Like really bitter. Bacon garnish was not crispy (as advertised), clearly cooked a long time and it was covered is grease. Tacos were hard shell, I don't like hard shell tacos. Flavor was okay. Rigatoni ... with chicken sausage were good, but the sausage looked like it was chewed by a dog and spit out. Strange presentation. Also tried lobster bisque, it was fantastic. Service was great too. Nice hidden gem in downtown, always love the spaciousness and quiet of this place. You get a great view and comfort. The food is alright, most of their burgers, sandwiches are good. Seafood dishes can be bland.

Here we are having dinner at Bistro Verde. Wow, food is food with fresh ingredients, thumbs up to the chef. Front desk ladies did a two thumbs up welcome greeting and took us to our table. View is nice. Service by Amin is 5*, thanks Amin. He served and checked ... if we are well all throughout. What a wonderful experience!
