Sweetery Cafe + Dessert - Vancouver, British Columbia

They have chicken and waffles here! That's always a win. Vancouver needs more restaurants that serve chicken and waffles in the city. This is the first time our family has been here. Always on the lookout for new food adventures. We ordered the chicken and waffles here. And they are not ... too bad. Chicken is crispy and also moist. Not like other places I've tried where the chicken was too dry. The mix of chicken, waffles and syrup was really an awesome flavour in the mouth! There are lots of burgers to choose from and they're decently priced. The only thing was that the burgers didn't come with fries. You have to buy the fries on the side. I don't understand why they do this. Kind of like Romers as well. The burger itself is decent price. But if you add the fries as well, it can begin to get pricy. The atmosphere is OK. Not great. But definitely not poor. It feels more like a coffee shop. But they do offer a lot. Food. Pastries. Coffee and drinks. It's a great place to just hang out for a bit or to do some work there. Pretty quiet after the lunch or brunch rush. So it could potentially be a good place for work or study. Only issue I've got is parking. There's only an hour parking available on the street in front, and it's only between certain hours as well. Overall though. I'd recommend this location to try their chicken and waffles. Read more

A nice bright space with good food. I stopped by on a weekend for lunch. The brunch menu was in full swing. I had fried chicken and waffles eggs Benny. I have been there twice. I love their waffles and chocolate cake. For the first time I felt like they are a bit expensive but after tasting their food I felt like its worth it. Living and working nearby makes this spot a casual stop. Nice place to relax and have a coffee or some food. I have had their brunch and sandwiches, but have been meaning to have a burger from relish. Maybe next visit?

This place is pretty much always dead and with good reason. The coffee is bitter, I've never had good food here and the baked goods are mediocre. Today I ordered a tofu veggie rice bowl to be warmed up. When it came out it was cold so they took it ... back and reheated it; the rice was hard and crunchy, the tofu was rubbery and the veggies were not great either. The best thing was the sauce without which this dish would have been inedible. I have to say the cashier's are always very friendly and welcoming. I have been here several times and ever time it has been a big miss on the food. The "Macha Nutella" Cookie I ordered came out and was missing labeled and was actually matcha and white chocolate and was waaay too sweet and I have quite a sweet tooth.
