Very disappointed in what is my first and probably last visit to Duffins donuts. Having lived in the area for 6 years, I know it’s a South/East Van staple and has a cult following. I got half a dozen donuts for $10, a full dozen would be $19. This price is ... on par, or slightly higher than other donut places like Krispy Kreme. However, Duffins doesn’t accept Credit cards, only debit or cash. I know it’s because of merchant fees, but given their prices and how popular they are, they should start accepting credit cards because they can absolutely afford to. What’s worse, and in my opinion unacceptable is the condition of their bathroom. Not just because it wasn’t clean but because the owners have not maintained it at all. The walls are falling apart and the insulation inside the walls is coming out. There’s graffiti all over and the bathroom is just in a shameful condition. Customers may not be able to see inside the kitchen but they can extrapolate how it might be based on the bathroom and the inside of the restaurant. I have attached photos to my review so others can get a better idea. Their slogan is “come in for a better taste” but the poor state of their bathroom, their service, and payment restriction left a bad taste in my mouth. Read more
