Carousel Cafe - Vancouver, British Columbia

First off, it is lovely to have this little cafe right in the community centre. The positives are that the girl that works during the week is the best- sweet and genuine (brown haired- short wavy bob, always listens to great music..) and altogether heartening. She makes a good cup ... of coffee and is kind and patient with the kiddos she is besieged with on a regular basis- including my own. Snacks are ok, though slightly predatory- which is understandable. The only annoying thing about carousel is the owner - present on the weekends (or am I only assuming he is the owner because he is a white male with an offhand manner?) He doesn't deign to return a simple 'hello' which kind of makes me want to stomp on his foot. Good thing he is obnoxious behind his counter. (And thank you brown- haired girl- for making up for him. We always get a snack here after doing our activities at trout Lake community centre. We like the smoothies and the cinnamon rolls best, but be warned; they run out of things late in the day. There is a little seating, but it is often taken so you may have ... to sit elsewhere in the community centre to enjoy your snacks and coffees. Read more
