There aren't many health food stores in downtown Vancouver so it's nice to have the Body Energy Club here. There are about five stores in the downtown core and this is one of the bigger ones with a very nice selection of supplements and healthy food choices. The prices are ... very competitive and the staff are nice and helpful. They also sell Acia Bowls and Smoothies which you can order from a window on the outside of the store. It's very popular. I come here for the supplements. I'm a supplement junkie and I'm always trying to find the latest vitamin or mineral that will help prolong my life a little longer, and keep me out of the hospital. Gut health is always big on my list of health priorities. The more I learn about mental and physical health, the more I find that gut health is the key to everything. You have to start with your stomach first, and then go from there. The first step to good gut health is not just eating healthy foods, but not overeating. Just eating when you're really hungry is so important. Having a mini fast between meals is so important in regulating the microbiome in your gut. Then you can add your probiotics, enzymes, healthy foods, exercise, etc. It's surprising how our physical health can also set the tone for our mental health. The relationship is symbiotic and very important. Many forms of depression can be addressed with a healthy body. Especially a healthy gut. The traditional healthcare system, like Big Pharma, doesn't believe in the health food industry, or the concept of preventive health care. They want you to get surgery, get a dangerous vaccine, or take some kind of dangerous synthetic drug. We’re on our own when it comes to staying healthy. No one is going to save us but ourselves. So it's nice to have stores like the Body Shop in the community where we can have access to some natural health care options. Read more
