Ricky’s All Day Grill - Vancouver, British Columbia

Wow, what can I say. I was on the search for a delicious rigatoni rose dish in the city of Vancouver. I happened to find Ricky's menu and saw that they had it on their menu. I went in, ordered one to go. It was pricey for what it was, ... but the food came out quick. When I got home and opened the container I couldn't believe it. Inside was the smallest portion of pasta I have EVER seen, not even a 5 year old would be full from this portion! It was misleading because they put it in a big container. Also, the sauce was absolutely awful. It was definitely not a rose sauce, they put random day-old veggies such as olives in it. I was very disappointed because the picture on their website and menu looked delicious, but what I got in person was a small portion pasta with day-old sauce. The first pic os a pic on their website. I come here for the big Yukon breakfast. This location has been here awhile it could do with a renovation. The same missing vertical blinds have been there from the beginning and it has full bar and seating...I have never heard people say hey let's go to Ricky's for ... happy hour they should just replace it with regular seating. It's a nice place to have dinner in downtown, the portions of the food were big and the lasagna was really tasty. The service was very friendly and helpful all time and the prices were accessible according to the place.

Long wait times...but love the molten chocolate chimichanga (only thing I tried there) Edit: Went again. Had veggie omelettes and the chimichanga. Food and service was good until I asked for an extra fork to have the chimichanga. The server (old Asian lady) literally threw the fork on the table. We really enjoy this little branch of Ricky's. They rotate their menu fairly often, the food is always well prepared, they'll usually play the game on their tv's, though that's not the focus, and the staff are very caring about the service they provide, which is speedy and solid. We ... typically visit either before hopping on transit towards Horseshoe Bay, or after on our way back, because they really are quick and efficient, more so, when you let the staff know, and get the bill early. There's booths, tables/chairs, a small bar with high stools, and a sizeable covered outdoors area. Another interesting thing we noticed, is the completely random selection of music they play inside. It's never intrusive or causes difficulty chatting with your company, but it's a seemingly unrelated mix of tunes, haha. Read more
