I really had high hopes for this place as I hear about it from many people and how amazing it is, but the truth is that this place may just get by on its historic name. The food was mediocre. The roti was chewy but looked charred so my guess ... it was refrigerated and then warmed up again. The green beans were ok. The curry lamb was tasty but all the meat was loaded with fat. The noodles I had with calamari was the winner; so much flavour and a generous serving; my only critique on the noodles dish is that the calamari was over cooked and rubbery. The prices on this place are disgustingly overpriced; my green beans dish was $21. That is ridiculous! Our waiter was really friendly but I have to say that the co-owner was a bit rude. The co-owner brought the tab and the debit machine and so I get my card out and as he approaches me my wife asks me something so i turn to her to answer her and then the guy makes an abrupt turn and leaves me there. He did not ask if I was ready to pay, or if I wanted more water or more time…he just left. Not exactly good customer service. Overall I wouldn’t recommend this place. I would suggest The Banana Leaf for good Malaysian food at decent prices. Read more
