Sushi King House - Vancouver, British Columbia

No pictures for this review unfortunately as my phone was not charge but the place is overall great. Went for a date night with my partner. We had the some Tofu and Edamame, then a Bacon Asparagus Roll and the Jalapeño Bombs. The Bacon Asparagus roll was intriguing. A new experience ... even if we are not sure it sticks the landing. Jalapeño Bombs are a standout and you should absolutely try them if you come visit. The orange really adds a dimension to tbe dish. Solid service with no frills, even though we had to wait a little longer than usual. Prices are in line woth Vancouver but portions and consistently big so its a good deal! The place has kind of a hole in the wall vibe that you dont really get anymore in many restaurants in vancouver and the intimate size and seating make it great for a date night on the cheaper end of the spectrum. Very fresh, tasty sushi at very low prices. I've been coming to Sushi King House for about 20 years at it has been as good as it's been consistent. It's not fancy, but the fish is very fresh and the portions are huge (both the rolls and sashimi, which is ... quite rare). The California rolls are fantastic, as is the Mango Paradise roll. The House roll seems to have everything and may actually be too big for consumption :) Highly recommend this unassuming place with great staff and great food! Read more

A great selection of rolls and boxes and noodles. I would recommend the Pacific Ocean roll, because it definitely ranks in my top 10 favorite rolls ever. We also had the Spicy crunch roll, and a Bento box with teriyaki chicken on rice. This place is quite hidden at the ... moment, because as of right now it is right on the edge of a construction site. The California roll was bland and had too much rice. The chopped scallop also wasn’t flavoured enough. Disappointing for Vancouver sushi. The size of the rolls were huge, as was the fish so you do get the size of two normal sushi pieces in one. The service was subpar as the lady ... seemed rude, annoyed and didn’t seem to enjoy having to interact with us, and another customer came in asking to add miso to their noodle soup which she bluntly said “no”. Specialty rolls were delicious. Favorite was the miami roll. Spicy tuna and salmon rolls were average. The size of the rolls was huge! Place only takes debit or cash. Service was a tad slow, may be because of many pickup orders. Will definitely go again.
