One of my favourite take out places for sushi. They’ve been around forever. Their chopped scallop and tamago nigiris are my favourite in the city. Recently have also started loving their house roll :) highly recommend. They are a small shop and can get really busy with take out orders ... so call early to place your orders especially on the weekend. Read more
Loved this local mom and pop shop. This is an extremely small restaurant with only three tables serving a great meal. The owners and staff are extremely nice and pleasant to talk to about their fish and what they offer. I thought the fish was fresh and the rice ... was decent. The cuts were large and flavorful. We ordered the omakase set and then proceeded to order a few more pieces to try out all their selection and to top up the experience. This is very out of the way from the city core but worth the travel. Just make sure to call ahead and book a spot before you go. Read more
So happy to encounter this restaurant from a friend’s recommendation, what a hidden gem! Food: over the top ⭐️ Price: decent for the size and quality ⭐️ Service: over the top ⭐️ We ordered the Assorted Nigiri and extra Nigiris, large portion of fresh seafood, sushi rice at its best taste. Basically all I ... am looking for! ( Note: their nigiris already include wasabi inside, so try not to add extra to the soy sauce!) Staff is very professional, attentive, detail oriented! I will come back and eat more!! Read more
Amazing place for traditional Japanese food. A lot of their fish is imported from Japan. All the food is fresh and taste fabulous. I rarely eat Saba since I find it a bit too fishy for me but the saba-su (mackerel sunomono) was so good I wanted seconds!!! I find ... their quality is superb. Although it looks like it is only one chef, the food came at a pretty fast pace. The service is warm and friendly. Table seating is very limited even without Covid restrictions. Highly recommend making reservation but there is a minimum $20 per person charge for dine in. Their take out looks just as amazing but unfortunately I did not have the chance to snap a shot of it. The pricing is slightly on the higher side but well worth it for the quality and taste that you are getting. Read more
This home-styled Japanese owned and delivered is quaint, but is a gem that brings the comfort of home into a restaurant. One of the few places that serve a fish-bone soup, it is a must have if one enjoys the simplicity of a richly flavored broth using all ... parts of the fish that do not get cut into a nicely presented piece of sushi. Add in a chawanmushi with a good amount of seafood and this is one of the most complete traditional, home-styled Japanese experiences I have really come to appreciate. I usually come for the omakase and it can overshadow these other dishes, but behind the simple decor of the restaurant lies a rich history of well tuned, time-tested food choices that will satisfy those looking for a traditional Japanese food experience.
