My favourite ramen place for taste, consistency, affordability. I’ve tried both the ramen, gyoza, donburi for pork and vegan. Both ramen options are delicious, I prefer thick noodle and like now everything is customizable and you can request kaedama. Both gyozas are fresh and flavourful too. I think their donburis ... are just okay, but not worse than other local Japanese restaurants, have yet to find a good one in Vancouver. I didn’t like the vegan soy chashu, but that’s personal preference. They also had vegan soft boiled eggs, but I stick with their tofu. I also like their rewards program, which you can add to your Apple Wallet. Just remind them to scan it when you pay. The price is hard to beat and I actually prefer how quick their service is, especially how they don’t feel like they need to keep bothering you because you’ll devour your delicious food very quickly! I wouldn’t say it’s high on the accessibility scale because it is a tight space, but if you can get a spot right beside the door it is possible. Read more
My favourite ramen spot in town! There's usually a wait of 30 minutes, you put your name on the tablet at the front door. I find that if I come a bit earlier to 6pm theres usually no wait! The portion is perfect and the servers will usually come around asking ... if you'd like to top up your bowl with noodles for extra. I usually opt out but my partner usually gets the top up! The servers are super friendly and attentive. My go to order is the classic rekka with thin noodles and add an egg! Read more
While the ramen itself was decent, the overall experience left much to be desired! After signing up to reserve a table for three, I received a message indicating that my table was nearly ready, only to find out upon arrival that it was not the case. Disappointed, my friends and I ... ended up waiting outside for about 30 minutes. Once inside, we were already frustrated and on top my order was incorrect. However, the server was gracious enough to rectify the mistake promptly. Additionally, our dining experience was further marred by the overwhelming noise emanating from the kitchen—a constant barrage of blender noises made it nearly impossible to converse comfortably!!! While I won't deny the tastiness of the food, it simply wasn't worth the time and hassle. Read more
I recently visited this Ramen Danbo location and was pleased with my experience. One of the main reasons I decided to come here was because they have a digital waiting list, so there is no need to wait in line. You can simply add your name and wait for a ... text message when your table is ready. This is convenient, especially on rainy days, as you can wait in your car or browse the nearby stores. The ordering process here is different from the other branch. While I personally prefer the other branch where you can spend time selecting your order, here they take your order using iPads. It's not a big deal, but if you want to experience the unique ordering process, I recommend visiting the other location. The quality of the food was as good as always, and every time I go there for a meal, I never regret it. The price is definitely worth it. Congratulations to the team for their excellent work! Voted best ramen in Vancouver for a good reason! Delicious, flavourful broth that is highly customizable regarding the type of noodles, thickness of broth, toppings, and spice levels. Gyoza was also very good. Service was very fast and attentive, and the atmosphere was cozy but slightly cramped. Worth the hour ... wait to get in, highly recommend! Read more
