It’s very authentic and not too complicated! I love that the chair is so unique! I also love the fact you can hang your jacket on the wall and not worrying where to put them! Services are very nice, they are very efficient and kind! I ordered Shoyu chicken chashu and gyoya ... there! So delicious! Read more
This place is amazing. It has a very traditional/authentic Japanese feel. Indoor is small but cozy, which really adds to the experience. The staff was friendly and courteous. I had their shoyu ramen and it was absolutely delicious. I found it lot better than other higher end ramen places in ... Vancouver that are famous. Totally recommend to try this place out in the west end. Read more
I did not want to believe the reviews but the ramen is too salty!!! All of my family agreed: father-in-law, mother-in-law, brother-in-law, and husband. I usually am ok when it comes to salty things but this was hard to actually drink if ever it was just the soup that was ... left. So all of us left the soup =( Portioning was off for me. most everyone wanted extra noodles except for me but I got EXTRA so I was really full even if I did not drink the salty soup, Expensive a bit and not enough space to eat. Maybe if they change they layout. They do have hooks to hang your bag/jackets. -2 star. please fix the expensive salty soup!!!!! I will come back again and taste it again with a different set of people. i will change then my review. Read more
We came here for lunch as we saw that this ramen restaurant was highly ranked in 2018. We came here around 12. The restaurant was quite empty with one customer only. We were seated right away. Servers were friendly. We knew the bamboo charcoal dark miso ramen was famous, so we ordered ... it and gave it a try. The ramen came out pretty quickly. We tried the soup base first. We couldn’t really tell what flavour it was although it was a dark miso base. We tried the ramen. The texture of the noodles was good. The chashu was very tendered. Unfortunately, we did not have a “wow” experience when we were eating the bowl of ramen. Maybe other flavours like shoyu, miso and shio ramen would taste better? We were there eating the whole time. Some customers came in but the restaurant was not full around 12:30pm or so. Comparing to the other ramen restaurants on Robson, this one was less busy obviously. If I would like to eat ramen next time, I might go somewhere else but not this one. Read more
While there’s plenty of ramen options in the neighbourhood, for me Motomachi stands out as a favourite. The ramen is excellent here - good options, quality ingredients, and decent portions. Intimate space, friendly staff, quick service, good ambiance. Seating is kind of uncomfortable so I wouldn’t come here for a lengthy meal, ... but great for a quick bite solo or with a couple of friends - tables are small. Read more
