Great price for the food choices you get, especially since hotpot broth and sauces are included in the $20.99 AYCE pricing. Highly recommend the lamb slices. And the plum juice (free refills). Tomato soup base is also very tasty and refreshing. Not every hotpot place has this, so be sure to ... try this out if you haven’t tried it before. Just wished the refill for the plum juice could come in a pitcher like for other soft drinks, instead of having to flag someone down every time you needed a refill. Sometimes everyone is busy and it may take some time to find someone. Come before 1pm if you can. The place got busy around 1:15, and there was a slight wait by 1:30 when I was here on a Monday. The weather was cold outside so it felt like a good time to go for hot pot. We decided to try the Happy Lamb Hot Pot in Vancouver, on Broadway. They have a $20.99 All You Can Eat lunch special from Mon. - Fri., 11:30am - 4pm. Last year we had ... tried the Happy Lamb Hot Pot in Burnaby and very much enjoyed our meal there. It was more expensive, but we were given a wider variety of foods to choose from. There was meat, veggies and tons of seafood. This time, at the Vancouver location, there was no seafood. For $20.99, we were given meat and veggies. While I do eat seafood, I actually tend to prefer going Vegetarian or even Vegan a lot of the time, so the lack of seafood wasn't a problem for me. My husband however, would have preferred to have some seafood on the table. He'd have been willing to pay a higher price to be able to eat seafood, but that option wasn't even available at this location. While seafood would have improved this experience for some people, we were still very happy with the food that we did get and all of us left with very full tummies. For $20.99, the food is very reasonable and if you're someone who can do without seafood in your hot pot then this is a great deal and I'd highly recommend it! Mixed Experience with Room for Improvement I recently dined at this restaurant with my gf and had a mixed experience. The interior design is decent, featuring a very bright ambiance, and the background music is at just the right volume, creating a pleasant atmosphere without being overwhelming. However, the restaurant's layout is ... congested with too many tables and chairs, making it difficult to walk literally anywhere, especially when trying to access the saucing station from our table. Speaking of which, the saucing station was disappointingly understocked, missing about 70% of its items, and was not refilled even after waiting for over 20 minutes, the saucing are basically cold-semi freeze when refilled. The biggest issue we faced was under staffing and lack of training. Our order took unusually long to be served - we were seated at 6:40 PM, placed the order at 6:50 PM, but our fitst dish only arrived at 7:25 PM, and the meat at 7:40 PM (so almost an hour.....) With only three staff members attending to approximately 10 tables, it was evident that they were overwhelmed. Most of the time, we, along with other customers, were left waiting, hearing only the repeated assurances of "coming soon" from the servers. Additionally, the food we received was inconsistent - only 70% of our order was served, and we received three dishes we didn’t order. We chose the deluxe package, but were informed only 10 minutes after ordering that oysters were unavailable, with no alternative offered or an inquiry if we were okay with this change. On the positive side, the food quality was decent. The squid was a bit rubbery, but the vegetables were fresh. However, the overall dining experience was marred by the long wait times and lack of attention. Even making a payment took an unnecessary amount of time, as I stood at the counter for about 8-10 minutes before being attended to. In summary, while the food quality and ambiance have potential, the service issues significantly impacted our experience. I spent $100 for two, which felt excessive given the long waiting times and the disorganized service. I would not consider returning until the staffing and training issues are addressed. Special shout out to the manager Emma, she really tried her best, taking care of both the floor and the kitchen and making personal conversation with every patron who walks in. That's the reason I would put a 3 rather a 2 stars😅 Read more
By far my favorite Hot Spot place to go!!!!! They have a great deal on all you can eat, and the broth is ABSOLUTELY DELICIOUS! I always get the original broth, and love it every time, but I'm sure the other broths are just as amazing! The service is quick and friendly, ... and after going only a couple times, they already knew what my husband and I liked to order. This comes especially in handy since I work quite late and sometimes come right around closing. They always are able to anticipate what I need before the kitchen closes. And I never leave feeling anything less than completely satisfied! If you're looking for a fun, interactive, and stomach stretching delicious meal, this is the place to go!!! P.S - they also offer a lower children's price for all you can eat, and my son LOVES being able to add the ingredients and really take part in the experience! Read more
So so good value. Lunch special AYCE for $20.99 with pop and some sides included. Pretty good soup broth as well. Rather small selection for the lunch special, but that didn’t hamper my experience here. The robot server was cute and well done.
