My first shot at Japanese BBQ. Not to shabby. The meat is pre cut and they have a lot of selection. From NY to filet Mignon, prawns to pork. Stone fried rice bowls are delicious. The bibimbap is tasty. It doesn't come with sides like ... Korean BBQ, those have to be ordered separately. Overall a good experience with a nice selection. A good place to get your feet wet. The food at Gyu-Kaku is truly so delicious! We ordered the Yakiniku Party and a pitcher of beer and the portion sizes were good as there were a variety of appetizers and meats to cook with this package. Service is also great and the food comes out very quickly once ... you order. Went on a Thursday night and waited around 45 minutes to get seated for a table of four so be prepared to wait a bit before getting seated if you’re walking in. There is a tablet to add yourself to the waitlist. As a side note, on thursday the last call to get any more food was at 9:30pm. Overall, highly recommend Gyu-Kaku and I will definitely be coming here again! Read more
This is one of the best Japanese BBQ restaurants in Vancouver area. The beef here is very good and the marinade they use is tasty. The staff here is very friendly and will change our grill plates promptly. Will be back next time! Highly recommend!
We had a reservation for 7:00pm but got actually seated at 7:30 because there was still people in our table. Not the restaurant’s fault because apparently they were a little tipsy and didn’t want to leave. This place is great for the experience of cooking your own food in the grill ... in front of you! For the meat eaters, this place got a 8.5/10. My 3 friends got the combo for 4 people and were extremely satisfied (which shows they wouldn’t have been with the one for 3 people). Their favorite was the New York steak. For vegetarians like myself, I got the cheese corn, garlic mushroom, and the veggie rice bibimbap. What I really wanted was the beyond meat bibimbap but they were out. The veggie one was alright, 6/10. The corn was really tasty but the portion is way too small! The mushrooms were great but lacking some seasoning. Overall for vegetarians 6.5/10 Read more
Fun dinner experience. The service is friendly, meats as well marinated and good quality. Sauce was tasty. The set combo meals are nicely done. The dessert s'mores were a great touch. Busy and popular.
