Omg where to start?! The service was superb. I brought a cake to the restaurant for my friend's birthday, and a server offered to keep it in the fridge even before I asked anyone. All servers were super smiley and nice for all of my requests. Food was also amazing, ... especially eggplant with shrimp paste. Can't go wrong with a standard dimsum restaurant! None of the fusion creativity from newer dimsum places but the og menu. You know it's legit when 80% are old Chinese locals and they know the waiter/waitress by first name basis.

Classic traditional HK-style dimsum, come early as the lineup starts about 15 minutes before the doors open. Love that they have duck webs with taro, hard to find at other dim sum places! Affordable dim sum, great for gatherings, and generous portions are highlights of this establishment. The dim sum and Chinese dishes are on point but average in taste and are more quantity than quality.

Fortune City seafood is always a reliable Cantonese restaurant. We’ve been frequenting them for many years, whether it’s for dim sum, lunch, dinner or delivery, they’re always fast, fresh and reasonable. Some of our favourite dishes includes their salt and pepper pork chops, their sautee shrimp with egg, ginger green onion ... beef hot pot, house special steam chicken, house special chow mien and so much more. It’s hard to avoid Chinese restaurants using MSG, and I think they do a good balance of it. While I have nothing against MSG, I find some restaurants over use it to hide the inferior quality of their ingredients. Not the case with fortune city seafood. Service is very typical of Chinese restaurants, you have to get a server’s attention if you want anything, but they do make the effort to provide special touches. One time we ordered way too many dishes and our table was cramped, after requesting for a bigger table, they helped us shift all our cutlery and dishes over. They will also ask if you would like the curtains down in the evening when the sun can be in your eyes. They also started doing discounted dishes for take out during COVID. They are now $18/dish, and they’re great when you don’t want to make dinner but still have a family to feed. Or if you want o just add a few extra dishes to your meal.
