Hands down the best spicy tuna in the neighborhood, it is mixed in with the Tuna not just applied on top like so many other places. Highly recommend the spicy sushi combo. Reasonable prices. $$
like others have said, this is a reasonably-priced, no frills sushi joint. Fresh ingredients if ordered at the right time. The chicken teriyaki roll wasn’t super well-constructed, but tasted okay. The assorted sashimi was ok; salmon and tuna were very fresh.
Superb service! Had the tuna&salmon poke bowl at lunch time, and the server was very attentive to my food allergies. The tuna & salmon pieces were thick and plenty. Really good portion for the price. Good ratio of fish, rice, avocado, cabbage, tobiko, seaweed. Bonus point for the super cute ... shoyu dish! Read more
3.5 stars? How bad could it be? Well I was pleasantly impressed 😁 My partner ordered the $9.50 22 piece special which consisted of 6 pieces of tuna maki, 8 pc California roll, and 8 pc yam tempura roll. The rice was well seasoned and wasn't overly sweet or vinegary like ... some other places. The pieces were generously sized and would've been enough for the two of us but I thought I should order more as I didn't anticipate the large serving sizes. The tuna maki was actually good; it had a good tuna flavour and the portions within the maki was decently sized. The yam tempura rolls were surprisingly decent with a good crisp. The California rolls were pretty standard; they had actual avocado and the imitation had mayonnaise unlike the photos in their menu had suggested. I ordered three items from the "Happy Combo" for $14.50: chicken karaage, 4pc takoyaki, and veggie yakisoba. Despite being a big eater, I honestly wasn't expecting so much food and had to take home the yakisoba and some of the chicken. The chicken karaage was super crispy and flavourful and impressive. The takoyaki was average but in a good way (I wouldn't come here for the takoyaki but I wanted to try). The yakisoba was also flavorful and came in a jumbo serving size. The included photos show how big the serving sizes were except for the karaage because it was too good and I ate it too quickly before the rest of my food came. Service was fast and our server was nice enough. Atmosphere was a bit on the dark side for my preference and had "hole in the wall" vibes but otherwise fine; definitely on the quieter side for dine-in on a Friday night but a fair number of pick ups came in. Definitely a great place to grab a bite with a friend. I highly recommend the chicken karaage and the 22 pc special. I'll definitely be back! Read more
